Amazing Songs & Other Delights #35 – The Louisville & Other News edition is a slightly different edition. It has three tracks from the album Louisville, a, so to speak, soundtrack to a reportage by Pedro Sousa Pereira and photographer Mário Cruz done in the United States in 2020. The show opens with Black Panther by Thee Magnets, has a middle with Amerika by Óscar Pinho with Wayne Kramer‘s voice and ends with Miami Booby Trump by O Imundo Decoro. Amazing Songs & Other Delights #34 – The One Hit Wonder now available on Yé Yé’s mixcloud is filled with songs writen in the longest running greatest hit: Pachelbel’s Canon = Canon in D Major that has been going strong for 342 years and counting.
You can hear the wonders of Johann Pachelbel’s creation everywhere on the 14 songs played, as well as in the opening and closing excerpts of the Canon in itself and even in comedian Rob Paravonian’s rant.
The songs are as “diverse” and diverse as Vitamin C’s Friends Forever (Graduation), Go West sang by Village People, and Pet Shop Boys, Vampire Weekend’s Step, Oasis’ Don’t Look Back in Anger, The Who’s Pictures of Lilly or Ladies And Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space by Spiritualized.
